Perseverance

I've been on a journey to find my way, to figure out who I am. I'm fully aware of whose I am, because God has been the head of my life for quite some time. It's just that, on many occasions, I've stood in His way during some of the times when He was trying to bless me with something that was of Him. It was never intentional on my behalf, but I still take full responsibility for allowing my will to take precedence over His. I allowed people in my life to dictate my identity. I let loved ones tell me that I was inadequate. I even let my own father tell me that I was nothing, and that I was destined to fail.

I believed it, because of who he was. That was my daddy. I loved him with all of my heart so, I thought that maybe, just maybe he was right. Then that thought passed, God showed me that even though I was still required to respect him as my father, I could prove him wrong through my actions.

The very year he told me that, I failed my grade in school. I was very disappointed in myself and I also let my mother down. She was there when my dad uttered those words, and she never believed a word of it. At the time, it didn't matter because he encouragement didn't speak as loudly as his discouragement.

That summer, I was enrolled in summer school. I promised myself that I'd do better, and was determined to make sure it was the truth. That summer, I did better than I ever had before. I was an A student, and on top of it all, I made student of the week 5 out of the 6 weeks that I attended classes. The week I missed it, was only by a couple points, but I made up for that by winning another achievement in one of my computer classes?

Why am I telling you this? Because it's a small part of my testimony. Because it is evidence that the way you think, the way you perceive yourself has everything to do with what you achieve in your life. Had I kept believing the words said to my by my father, I'd still be on a path of failure. Instead I reinstated my faith and belief system, knowing that God has great plans for me, and held my head high while keeping my thoughts positive. I constantly told myself that it could be done, and I did it.

I never got angry with my dad for the things he said. Instead, I appreciated them because that moment in my life was when I started to think differently, and it has opened a lot of doors in my life. Had I continued to believe that I was nothing, Don Savant may have never existed.

God's will for you is stronger than anything on this earth.

Never give up on your dreams, no matter what they may be. God Bless

Don't Hold Yourself Back

When it comes to living your dreams, it's not the people around us that hold us back. It's self. People can say and do things to discourage or "block" you from your blessings but ultimately it's you that has to make the decision of whether or not you will allow that person or situation to dictate what you can or cannot accomplish. You are powerful enough to speak into existence a great life for yourself. God already has those things in place for you and all you have to do is believe that it can happen. Have enough faith in God to believe that not only do you deserve better but that you will be, do and have better situations in your life.

It all starts with faith, love and gratitude.

Just a Thought....

Ghetto is not a person, a race, nor is it an action or actions. It is a state of mind that can encompass anyone that feels in their mind, heart and soul that it's the way they are supposed to be and that there is no other way for them.

Change your mindset, change your destiny.

Word of the Day

We were born to live, learn and grow. If we refuse to learn or to be educated in our lives, then we will never truly grow as individuals. We will continue to be stuck in the same old mindsets and beliefs and nothing within us will ever change.

So many of us seek perfection in our lives, but the truth of the matter is, the only thing perfect in us is the fact that we are indeed imperfect.

Word of the Day....

If I Had The Power

If I had the power I would end all hatred, self and otherwise. I would end all doubt and instill confidence in the souls of all mankind. I would end all bigotry and inject unity into the entire population.

If I had the power, I would see to it that all children were wanted once again and not treated and used as bargaining tools for irresponsible parents that play games with one another at the child's expense. I would see to it that even if those parent's could not be together that they would at least work together for the benefit of that child.

If I had the power I would stop all abuse. Whether it is child abuse, domestic or spousal, verbal or physical. I would teach people to channel their anger into positive endeavors, to learn to let go of someone instead of being selfish and taking them from the world s that no one else can have them.

I would direct everyone to love, true love and its Creator for He can put love in places and people that others would never think to look.

I would teach bullies to deal with the situations within themselves that causes them to lash out at others by starting with the source. All bullies become that because they themselves were bullied or pushed around in some way or has witnessed someone around them being bullied or pushed around at some point in their lives.

I would declare a National Fellowship Day where everyone came together just celebrate life and love by embracing one another on sight for an entire 24 hour period.

If I had the power...I would lead by example to make this world a better place to live.

The Day After

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Today's date is May 22nd, 2011. The fact that you're reading this today means that we are indeed still here. It also means that God has once again remained true to His word.

Mark 13:32 "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Acts 1:7 He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."

Yesterday proved just that. However, the false prediction should not be taken lightly simply because no one really knows. It could have been yesterday, today, next week or month. In that case we all need to be prepared. I'm not perfect by any means. I do love God with all my heart but still I'm reminded of how imperfect I am on a daily basis. Each time that i do or say something that I know I shouldn't, I try that much harder to keep those things in my past, not allowing them into my present so that my future with God will not be in jeopardy. I encourage you all to seek Him, to get closer to Him. Today is so uncertain. There is so much going on in the world that we need Him. We need the love and divine protection that only He can provide. We need His leadership in our lives, and we also need to spread His message of love and how He wants to build a relationship with each one of us.

I have a lot to work on, and I'm starting now. I'm allowing God to build something great in me, and that means I have to bury those things that aren't of Him. It's going to be a process, and I won't always be right in what I do but I am reaching for Him, that I may grow in his spirit and rest in his arms. We can do this!!!
