Say What?

I just want to speak on something right quick. When did the people of America become such whiners? We take offense to so much these days that it's absolutely ridiculous. Now, I'm not one of those that will go out an proclaim to the world that the end is near, but you certainly have to wonder. Especially when you have people getting offended by someone simply telling you to "have a blessed day". Are you serious? There are so many more things that we could be worried about in life besides someone telling you to be blessed. Furthermore...why would you even run out and tell on someone for that? It's a tad too trivial for my taste. But, I do say this regardless. Have a Blessed Day!!!!! They should change the title of the USA to the DSC. The Divided States of Complainers.

New Video

I've put together a new video. This is a side of me that I haven't really put out there before so I hope you enjoy it. This is a short intro song that I wrote and produced called Carolina Homegrown. I am planning to use it as an intro to my work in Progress Spoken Word cd that has the working Title of Real Writing.

Pay It Forward

Good morning friends and family. I am so grateful to see another day. I'm also grateful that all of you have as well. When we lie down at night, there's no guarantee that we'll rise again...so this morning I ask this...Are you satisfied with what you're doing? Are you doing what you've always dreamed you'd do, or are you still "wishing" you could do it? Have you inspired, encouraged, or complimented anyone today? It's easy to criticize, or speak about what you don't like about someone or something...but what good comes of tearing someone down? WHy can't we build each other up? Are we afraid that someone might get more than what we have? Then go get yours...stop worrying about what he or she has and go get you some of your own. We all have the potential to do or be anything we want. Don't let your life's situations ever tell you otherwise. If you have information that you know will benefit others, pass it along...someone may need that..stop keeping things that are designed to prosper to yourselves....y'all ain't ready for this message today...I see networking going on between individuals all the time...and it brings a smile to my face each time I see it....but then it also saddens me...why? Because it's never "us", that I see sharing prosperity with one another. Every where I go...I see people attempting to build each other up, sharing information that could prove beneficial to others...but it's never "us". We have got to do better. We say a lot, but we never "do" anything. Our word can never be taken seriously. If we say we'll be there at 10, we don't show up until 2. If we say we got you, we always forget about you. If we say we support you...it usually start and ends with those words. Imagine how far we'd be if our pride didn't blind us.

Ranting...Something On My Mind...

There are opportunities in this world for each one of us. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, asian, or whatever race, color or creed you may be. It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, fully able or disabled, there is something that you are destined to do. All of us have a talent for something, whether it's a hidden one of obvious ones. For some of us, it comes naturally, and for others, we have to take a really deep look within ourselves to find what it is we're the best at and capitalize on it.

Being a black man, I see and hear stories of struggle from other blacks every day. Now, that's not to say that no other race has hard times, because It's a fact that they do but, I too often hear people speak on how they can't do this or that, including myself in some cases, which is something that I'm working on personally. People in certain places and situations settle for what they have or don't have and place blame on invisible entities as to why they can never elevate from where they are. Now, I know that there are some hard-working individuals out there living paycheck to paycheck, barely keeping the bills paid, wishing they had more. I can relate to that. But on the flip die...you have others that complain about not having anything, not being able to obtain anything but then you see them doing not so intelligent things with the money that they do have.

I'll give an example to make my point. I saw a video just now of a rapper on stage at a concert and chaos ensued when people started throwing bottles on the stage. People, we need to take some responsibility for ourselves. The only way we're ever going to get ourselves out of a hole is is our mindset completely changes and we start acting in a way that inspires prosperity amongst ourselves. You cannot rise to the top while standing in a sinkhole. The same individuals that say they can barely scrape up enough money to keep their lights on are paying to go to a concert to basically show how much they dislike the person they paid to see? What? This makes absolutely no sense to me. This man that you dislike, has already gotten paid off of the money you spent so more than likely, he doesn't care whether he finishes the show or not. He got his, and guess what? You wasted yours, when you could have invested in something that could have potentially helped you escape the situation that you're in.

Let's get it together people..Help someone help themselves. We need each other. God Bless.

Don Savant Quote

Be careful of the things you concentrate on the most in life. These are the things that will grow and manifest themselves. Focus on positive things that will prosper you as opposed to things that will create problems for you.

Don Savant Quote

They say that closed mouths don't get fed...well, without food, we can't grow. In a relationship, communication is what feeds the union. Without it, you'll both starve to death.

Change Quote

We can change the world, but we'll make no progress by simply complaining.

Dave Hollister!!!!

Many of you may not consider this blog-worthy, but I have a difference of opinion on the matter. One of my all-time favorite R&B singers is apparently making his return after turning to gospel music. Now, let me say this. I absolutely love gospel music, especially those that stir your soul and makes you want to shout no matter where you are. I enjoy Mr. Hollister as a singer period, no matter what genre his music is in. It has been a while since I've heard him tear up a good old real-life-situation-everybody-done-been-through-it type R&B song. Well, my wish has been granted. ladies and gentlemen, I give you...Home. Enjoy!!!
